Cytotoxic compounds from dendrobium ochreatum against human lung cancer H460 cells
Abstract:
The chemical analysis of crude extracts from Dendrobium ochreatum ethanol revealed 12 compounds. Among them, dendroochreatene, a novel discovered compound, and 11 previously identified compounds were found: atraric acid, docosyl trans-ferulate, moscatilin, cinnamic acid, β-hydroxypropiovanillone, loddigesiinol C, dihydroconiferyl dihydro-p-coumarate, indole-3-aldehyde, vanillic acid, naringenin, and 2,4,7-trihydroxy-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene. Structural elucidation of these compounds was achieved through MS, IR, UV, and NMR spectroscopic analyses, corroborated by comparison with existing literature data. The cytotoxicity evaluation against NCI-H460 non-small cell lung cancer cells employed two methods: direct cell testing and literature review. Moscatilin demonstrated the most potent inhibitory activity against this cancer type, with an IC50 value of 147.3 ± 0.9 µM, while the other compounds exhibited inactive results in terms of cytotoxicity against the cells.
