Abstract:
Problem-solving skills are important in the 21 century, enabling students to understand and analyze problems systematically to solve daily life issues. The purposes of this research were 1) to develop and test the effectiveness of unplugged coding activity package, 2) to compare the students' problem-solving skills before and after learning through unplugged coding activity package, 3) to compare the students' problem-solving skills after learning with the unplugged coding activity package according to a criterion of 70 percent, and 4) to study the students' satisfaction with learning through unplugged coding activity package. The target group for this research was 16 grade 3 students from Ban Don Takhian School. The research tools consisted of 1) unplugged coding activities package,
2) learning management plans with the use of unplugged coding activity package, 3) problem-solving skills assessment questionnaire, and 4) the students' satisfaction survey. Statistics for data analysis were 1) the efficiency of the unplugged coding activity package according to the E:/Ez criteria, 2) the inferential statistics induding to paired sample t-Test and one sample t-Test, and 3) descriptive statistics including mean and standard deviation.
The research findings indicated that 1) the effectiveness of unplugged coding activity package was 72.96/76.46, meeting the criteria, 2) the students' average problem- solving skills scores after learning were significantly higher than before learning at significance level of .05, 3) the students' average problem-solving skils score after learning were significantly higher than 70 percent criterion at the significance level of :05, and 4) the students' satisfaction with learning through unplugged coding activity package was
at a high level (x = 4.28, S.D. = 0.57). Therefore, these findings suggested a suitable approach for learning management to develop problem-solving skills in the school's context.
