Abstract:
The objectives of the research were to 1) develop multimedia based on problem-based learning on the topic of Basic Programming with Scratch for the fourth-grade students, 2) determine the quality of the multimedia based on problem-based learning, 3) determine the efficiency of the multimedia based on problem-based learning, 4) compare the students learning achievement before and after learning through the multimedia based on problem-based learning, and 5) study the students satisfaction toward the multimedia based on problem-based learning. The samples were divided into two groups: ten experts and thirteen students. The research instruments included questionnaires, achievement tests, and multimedia lessons. The statistics used for data analysis were means, standard deviations, and t-tests.
The research findings were as follows.
1) The development of multimedia based on problem-based learning on Basic Programming with Scratch for the fourth-grade students consisted of six modules: (1) login module, (2) user instruction module, (3) function menu module, (4) seven multimedia lesson modules, (5) post-lesson quiz module, and (6) achievement test module. 2) The quality of the multimedia based on problem-based learning was at a high level, with a mean score of 4.47 and a standard deviation of 0.53. 3) The efficiency of the multimedia based on problem-based learning was 80.41/81.28, meeting the established criterion of 80/80. 4) The students learning achievement after learning through the multimedia based on problem-based learning was significantly higher than before learning at the .05 level of significance. And 5) the students overall satisfaction with the multimedia based on problem-based learning was at a high level, with a mean score of 4.41 and a standard deviation of 0.57.
