Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to: 1) compare the spelling ability of primary 3 students before and after instruction through the CIPPA model (connecting, improving, performing, promoting, assessing, producing and applying) with language games, 2) compare the spelling ability of these students before and after normal instruction, and 3) compare the spelling ability of these students after instruction between the CIPPA model and normal instruction. The sample group consisted of two classrooms of 36 students each as the experimental and control group from Josephvithaya School, Thamai District, Chanthaburi Province in the first semester of academic year 2024. The research instruments used were: 1) a normal learning management plan, 2) a learning management plan using the CIPPA model with language games, and 3) a spelling test. The statistics used for analyzing the data were: mean, standard deviation, t-test and one-way ANCOVA. The results of the study were as follows: 1) the students who learned with the CIPPA model with language games had higher spelling ability after instruction than before at the statistically significant level of .01, 2) the students who learned with normal instruction had higher spelling ability after instruction than before at the statistically significant level of .01, and 3) the students who learned with the CIPPA model had higher spelling ability than the students who learned with normal instruction at the statistically significant level of .01.
