Abstract:
Installing lighting poles is essential for a nation's development and the quality of its citizens' lives. These poles play a critical role in enhancing road safety and driving efficiency. However, incorporating innovations into lighting pole installations can significantly improve maintenance and upkeep. This research focused on designing and developing a hinge for 9-meter single-bracket lighting poles, which allows them to fold up and down from the base. This design aimed to enhance strength, ease of installation, and maintenance. The strength of the hinge was analyzed using the Finite Element Method (FEM). Based on this construction design, a prototype, and extensive testing were developed to assess its performance. The prototype demonstrated efficient and safe functionality. A comparison between the FEM analysis results and actual stress measurements obtained using strain gauges showed a similar trend, with an average error of 7.367%. Additionally, the study explored suitable foundation pile options for streetlights in Uttaradit Province along Route 1055. The findings revealed that a 6-meter long, 0.14-meter diameter solid cylindrical steel pile could safely support a load of 3.2 tons per pole.
