This research aimed to evaluate the potential of bagasse-derived biochar, hydrochar, and fly ash as soil amendments to improve soil quality and sugarcane productivity. The study was divided into two phases: laboratory-scale analysis and field experiments. In laboratory conditions, biochar and hydrochar were compared for their effects on soil properties, water retention, and nutrient availability. Biochar reduced soil bulk density by up to 6.04% in clay loam and improved water retention in sand soil by 73.4%, while enhancing phosphorus retention by 87%. Hydrochar demonstrated rapid nutrient release and better support for primary shoot germination under drought conditions due to its hydrophilic functional groups. In field trials, biochar and fly ash were applied to sugarcane plots over 12 months. Biochar significantly improved soil physical and chemical properties, reduced bulk density, enhanced nutrient availability, and effectively immobilized heavy metals (Cd, Zn, Pb). Sugarcane yield increased by 45.54% in clay loam (approximately 78.5 tons/ha) and 76.17% in sand soil (approximately 51.8 tons/ha). Brix saturation was achieved a month earlier, with stem diameter increasing by 14.05% in clay and 23.93% in sand. Fly ash moderately improved soil pH and moisture retention, but was less effective overall than biochar. These findings highlight the suitability of bagassebased biochar and related by-products as sustainable soil amendments to enhance crop productivity, soil health, and environmental safety in sugarcane cultivation
