Abstract: เขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าโตนงาช้างเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศ เหมาะแก่การพักผ่อนและเดินป่าศึกษาธรรมชาติ แต่ปัจจุบันกิจกรรมเดินป่าศึกษาธรรมชาติได้รับความนิยมค่อนข้างน้อย ซึ่งการวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 2 ข้อ คือ 1) เพื่อประเมินศักยภาพเส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติและการสื่อความหมายธรรมชาติเดิม โดยการใช้แบบวิเคราะห์แหล่งท่องเที่ยวตามศักยภาพของพื้นที่และตามหลักการช่วงชั้นโอกาสด้านนันทนาการ 2) เพื่อประเมินความต้องการการใช้ประโยชน์เส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติ โดยการเก็บรวบรวมแบบสอบถามของผู้มาเยือนทั้งหมด 473 คน จากวัตถุประสงค์การวิจัยข้อ 1 พบว่าเส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติชมน้ำตกโตนงาช้างจัดเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวประเภทกึ่งพัฒนา และศักยภาพของแหล่งท่องเที่ยวในด้านต่าง ๆ ส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในระดับศักยภาพของแหล่งนันทนาการปานกลาง และวัตถุประสงค์ข้อ 2 พบว่า ผู้มาเยือนสนใจกิจกรรมการเดินป่าศึกษาธรรมชาติเพียงร้อยละ 24.95 โดยผู้มาเยือนที่เคยใช้เส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติให้ความคิดเห็นเฉลี่ยสูงสุดต่อการจัดการเส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติในปัจจุบัน 3 ด้าน คือ ด้านแหล่งท่องเที่ยวทางธรรมชาติเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่เน้นให้นักเรียนรู้ศึกษาธรรมชาติได้สัมผัสและใกล้ชิดกับธรรมชาติเท่ากับ 4.51 ด้านการจัดทำเส้นทางเป็นเส้นทางเหมาะแก่การเรียนรู้ศึกษาธรรมชาติเท่ากับ 4.12 และด้านป้ายสื่อความหมาย ป้ายสื่อความหมายช่วยส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ศึกษาธรรมชาติเท่ากับ 4.04 สำหรับผลการวิจัยในครั้งนี้ หน่วยงานที่เป็นผู้รับผิดชอบสามารถนำผลการวิจัยไปใช้ประโยชน์ โดยดำเนินการปรับปรุงการสื่อความหมาย พัฒนาสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกบนเส้นทาง และมีการประชาสัมพันธ์ Tone Nga Chang Wildlife Sanctuary is an eco-tourism destination that is suitable for relaxing and hiking to study nature. But nowadays, hiking activities are relatively less popular. This research has two objectives. 1) To assess the potential of the nature trail and the original nature interpretation, using the analysis of tourist attractions according to the potential of the area and according to the recreation opportunity spectrum. 2) To assess the needs for the utilization of the nature trail by using the collection of questionnaires, we collected data from 473 visitors in total. From research objective number 1, it was found that the nature trail to visit Tone Nga Chang Waterfall is classified as a semi-developed tourist attraction, and the tourism site potential in various aspects is mostly moderate. And objective number 2, it was found that the visitors were interested in hiking activities for nature study at just 24.95 percent. For visitors who have used the nature trail, the maximum average opinion level per management of nature trails in the presence of three parts, i.e., the natural attractions are a tourist attraction that focuses on students learning to study nature and get close to nature, equal to 4.51, making a trail that is suitable for learning and studying nature, equal to 4.12, and interpretive signs that help promote learning and the study of nature, equal to 4.04.
