The Sapue Nuea Pump Station Project in Ubon Ratchathani is a project that pumps raw water from the Mun River to five reservoirs using a pressurized pipeline system. This study evaluated the energy consumption of this project using the concept of energy balance. The input energy (Ein) is converted into lost energy (Eloss) , which includes energy lost due to friction with the inner walls of pipes and various equipment, and output energy (Eout), which includes energy at the point where water is discharged into the reservoir and energy at the point of leakage. Energy evaluation allows us to know in what form energy is lost so that it can be corrected and energy efficiency can be improved in a targeted manner. This study simulate the transmission system by the EPANET software. The study found that at the beginning of the project and with no leaks in the system, the total energy input to the system averaged 1,300 kilowatt-hours. This is the electrical energy that enters the system through the pumps. The total energy loss in the system was 757 kWh, or 58% of the total energy input. This is broken down into 290 kWh of energy loss due to pump efficiency, or 22% of the total energy input, and 466 kWh of energy loss due to friction within the pipes, or 36% of the total energy input. The total energy output from the system was 542 kWh, or 42% of the total energy input. This is the energy that leaves the system along with the water volume to the reservoir. In comparison, as the project age and the amount of leakage in the system increase, the energy loss due to friction within the pipes increases. In contrast, the energy loss due to pump efficiency and the energy leaving the system to the reservoir decrease.
