The objectives of this research were to finish the silk fabric to maintain its shape and resistance to wrinkles with environmentally friendly crosslink agent, and to investigate the physical properties, the thermal comfort properties and the surface properties of the finished silk, the untreated silk fabric and the fusible silk fabric. The environmentally friendly crosslink agent was synthesized by mixing cane sugar and malic acid at different concentrations, temperatures and times of curing. The finishing process was carried out using the pad-cure method. The synthesized crosslink agent was examined using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Then, the finished silk was examined the functional groups of the crosslinking agents on the silk fabric by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy technique and the morphology of the finished silk was investigated by the scanning electron microscope. Subsequently, the untreated silk fabric, the finished silk fabric and the fusible silk fabric were tested for the thermal comfort properties and the surface properties. It was found that silk fabric coated with a crosslinking agent synthesized from sugar cane solution at a concentration of 15% and cured at 150 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes showed the highest wrinkle recovery angle. However, the finishing silk fabric treated with synthesized crosslinking agents showed increased yellowness and decreased strength compared to untreated silk fabric and fusible silk fabric. Thermal comfort testing revealed that the finished silk had lower air permeability and water vapor transmission. For wicking properties and contact temperature of the finished silk fabric, no significant differences were found compared to the other two samples. Surface property tests indicated that the finished silk was the hardest, maintaining the silk's shape well. In contrast, the fusible silk fabric demonstrated the highest flexibility in bending and recovering from bends. However, the crosslinking agent applied to the silk fabric affected its surface roughness
