Abstract:
The purposes of this research were 1) to examine current and desirable conditions of adaptive leadership in the changing world of administrators in the Triam Udom Suksa School Network, 2) to compare the current and desirable conditions of administrators adaptive leadership in the changing world, classified by positions, length of tenure in position, and school sizes, 3) to assess the needs for administrators adaptive leadership in the changing world, and 4) to establish guidelines for developing administrators adaptive leadership in the changing world in the Triam Udom Suksa School Network. The sample comprised 247 participants, including 24 school administrators and 223 teachers in the 2025 academic year. The sample size was determined using the Krejcie and Morgan table, and the participants were selected through stratified random sampling. The instruments were questionnaires and interview forms. The questionnaires assessing current and desirable conditions had a reliability of 0.836, and 0.842, respectively, with corresponding discriminative power values ranging from 0.140 to 0.789, and 0.186 to 0.737. Statistics for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Independent Samples t - test, One - Way ANOVA, and the Modified Priority Needs Index (PNImodified).
The findings were as follows:
1. The current condition of adaptive leadership in the changing world was overall at a high level, and the desirable condition was overall at the highest level.
2. The comparison results regarding current and desirable conditions of adaptive leadership in the changing world, classified by positions and length of tenure in position, showed no significant differences. However, in terms of school sizes, differences were observed at the 0.01 level of significance.
3. The needs assessment for administrators adaptive leadership in the changing world revealed that the aspect with the highest need was Strategic Thinking, followed by Communication and Challenge Management, and Change Leadership.
4. The guidelines for developing administrators adaptive leadership in the changing world in the Triam Udom Suksa School Network identified three aspects as the highest priority aspects for improvement: 1) Strategic Thinking - school administrators should formulate vision, proactive strategies and long-term plans (3-5 years) based on data-informed decision-making; 2) Communication and Challenge Management - school administrators should develop efficient, rapid, and accurate crisis communication systems through digital platforms as main tools; and 3) Change Leadership - school administrators should serve as change agents demonstrating academic courage, with a focus on reforming contemporary curriculum structures and learning processes through innovation.
