Abstract:
From October 2022 and June 2024, additional studies and surveys on ant
diversity in Thailand's eastern provinces identified at least 8 families, 70 genera, and
218 species of ants. The findings across the eastern region include Chonburi with 7
subfamilies, 37 genera, and 68 species; Rayong with 7 subfamilies, 34 genera, and 61
species; Chachoengsao with 8 subfamilies, 54 genera, and 155 species; Prachinburi
with 8 subfamilies, 43 genera, and 89 species; Chanthaburi with 8 subfamilies, 60
genera, and 165 species; Trat with 7 subfamilies, 38 genera, and 62 species; and Sa
Kaeo with 7 subfamilies, 30 genera, and 50 species. Updated ant checklists and
distribution data by province in eastern Thailand are also provided here.
