Abstract:
This study aimed 1) to explore Xianyu Yuege's personal experiences and professional achievements and 2) to examine the application of aesthetic principles in her vocal teaching. The samples were eight key informants who were divided into four groups: the primary key informant, the vocal aesthetic expert, the art instructor, and the students. The data were collected through interviews and classroom observations. Then, the collected data were analyzed by using content analysis. The results revealed that: 1. Xianyu Yuege was born on April 21, 1976, in Karamay, Xinjiang. She has earned numerous accolades, including the prestigious Golden Bell Award, and released notable works, such as her solo album Memories of Chang'an. 2. Xianyu Yuege's vocal teaching emphasized the foundational role of language, the cultivation of vocal aesthetics, and the ability to distinguish different vocal resonances. She also highlighted the importance of cultural literacy, encouraging students to deeply understand the emotional and artistic meaning of vocal works. Her approach promoted a steady, thoughtful, and persistent attitude in learning, discouraging impatience and the pursuit of quick success.
