Abstract:
The aims of this research were to the effects of Compassion Meditation
training program on mental health status in junior secondary school students:
Electroencephalography (EEG). The sample of sixty participants, academic year 2024.
Random assignment was used to assign the participants into the experimental group
and the control group, with 30 subjects in each group obtained from the selection
with Mental Health scores (DASS-21) Including depression, anxiety and stress, which
have a moderate score. The research instruments were: 1) The effects of Compassion
Meditation training program developed by the researcher, 2) Depression Anxiety
Stress Scale (DASS-21), 3) EMOTIV EPOC Flex EEG Monitor. There were 12 sessions in
the experiment, each lasting 90 minutes, for a total of 4 weeks. The experiment was
divided into three phases: pretest, posttest and the follow-up period. Data were
analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA. and T-test dependent. The findings
indicated that 1) The experimental group had the effects of Compassion Meditation
training program on mental health scores in the posttest and follow-up periods were
better than fore pretest with statistical significance at the .05 level. 2) The
experimental group had the effects of Compassion Meditation training program on
mental health scores in the posttest and follow-up periods were better than the
control group. 3) The experimental group was statistically significant at the .05 level.
The changes in Alpha wave in the post-test and follow-up periods It was higher than
the pre-test period, with statistical significance at the .05 level.
