Abstract:
The research aimed to achieve the following objectives: 1) to develop an online e-book utilising active learning management to enhance the Thai reading skills of Prathom Suksa 6 students, meeting the effectiveness criteria of the 80/80 standard; 2) to compare the academic achievements of grade 6 students before and after using online e-books through proactive e-learning methods; and 3) to evaluate the level of satisfaction among Prathom Suksa 6 students who engaged in online ebook learning with active learning techniques. The research utilised a demographic and sampling sample consisting of 30 Prathom Suksa 6 students from Natthabanjongwittaya School, selected by deliberate random sampling. The research employed many instruments, including e-books, pre- and post-learn achievement tests, pre- and post-learn reading skill tests, and student satisfaction assessments related to the usage of e-books. The data were evaluated by statistical analysis using the dependent t-test, mean, and standard deviation.
The findings of this research are as follows:
1) The findings from the study on the implementation of proactive learning management in the development of online e-books to enhance Thai reading skills among sixth-grade students, as assessed by experts, indicate a significantly high level of quality, with a mean score of 4.28 and a standard deviation of 0.684. The efficiency of an online e-book was assessed using a student efficiency score of80.00/88.88, which conforms to the 80/80 criterion.
2) The findings indicate a considerable improvement in the reading skills of Prathom Suksa 6 students when comparing their pre- and post-test results. The increase in average scores after the learning intervention was statistically significant at the 0.01 level. Specifically, the mean score after learning (μ = 39.10, σ = 9.77) was higher than the mean score before learning (μ = 28.72, σ = 2.20).
3) The comparative performance of Prathom Suksa 6 students' learning achievement before and after utilising e-books online with a method of active learning indicated a significant increase in the students' learning achievement following the intervention. According to statistical analysis at a significance level of 0.01, the mean score after learning (μ = 28.37, σ = 3.67) was shown to be significantly higher than the mean score before learning (μ = 12.00, σ = 1.63).
4) The assessment of the level of satisfaction among Prathom Suksa 6 students with their online learning experience with e-books, specifically focusing on the implementation of methods of active learning, revealed that the overall depiction reached its highest level. The determined mean of this data set was found to be 4.44, while the standard deviation was determined to be 0.664.
