Abstract:
This dissertation aimed at studying the discourses on human relationships with society and discourses on human relationship and nature by using the Discourse by Michel Foucault, the Ideology by Louis Althusser, and the Ecocriticism by Cheryll Glotfelty as the analytical method in Kamin Kamanis literary work for 18 titles.
The result found that Kamin Kamani constructed 2 sets of discourses were the human relationship with society and human relationship with nature. Under the discourses on human relationship with society had 5 sub-discourses were religion, nationalism, capitalism/consumerism, and peace. Kamin Kamani used sport; running, Takraw, Chinlong, football, basketball, and cycling as a sign and a tool for constructing the human relationship and society which was a reproduction of mainstream discourse and presenting the ideology related to the relationship between human and society for 5 ideologies; religion, democracy, nationalism, and capitalism/consumerism. The discourse on human relationship and nature had 2 sub-discourses were journey and nature and self and nature. There was a presentation of ideology related to humans and nature in 2 ideologies were ecocriticism and religion. Kamin used journey as a tool for constructing the relationship between human and nature focusing human depended on nature and journey was a sign of travel in transmigration for seeing the truth of Buddha meaning and the three characteristics of existence were impermanence, incompleteness, and non-self. Kamin reproduced the ecocriticism ideology by seeing nature in an extra meaning and explaining that humans should respect nature as a dependent resource of humans.
