Developing Strategic Management Guidelines for the Enhancement of Cooperative Relationship between Secondary Vocational Schools and Communities of Guangxi Electro-mechanical Industry School, China
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were as follows: 1) to investigate the problems and needs for a strategic management guidelines to enhance partnerships between secondary vocational schools and the community, and 2) to develop a strategic management guidelines. This research focused on Guangxi Mechanical and Electrical Industrial School in China as the research sample, involving 160 school members and 288 community members. A questionnaire, divided into three sections, served as the primary research tool, complemented by a set of of questions used for focus group discussions. The questionnaire was reviewed and validated by three experts. A Likert scale was employed to assess the respondents' opinions on various aspects of strengthening the partnership between vocational schools and the community. Data were analyzed using content analysis and presented in terms of frequency, mean, and standard deviation. The research revealed that: 1) the problems and needs for partnerships between vocational schools and the community were rated as "highest," and 2) the developed strategic management guidelines comprised four key modules: 2.1) Conceptual renewal as the core of enhancing cooperative relationships, 2.2) Sound mechanisms as the foundation for enhancing partnerships, 2.3) Capacity building as essential for relationship improvement, and 2.4) Two-way interaction as the guiding principle for strengthening partnerships. The strategic management guidelines were reviewed and approved by three experts, ensuring their correctness and applicability for fostering partnerships between vocational schools and the community.
