Abstract:
This study aims to 1) study the necessity of material management of educational institutions and 2) study the approach to material management of educational institutions under the Office of the Secondary Education Area, Chiang Rai. The research was divided into 2 steps: Step 1: Study the necessity of material management of educational institutions using quantitative data collection. The sample consisted of 317 administrators and teachers. The sample size was determined using the ready-made table of Krejci and Morgan and stratified random sampling. The instrument used was a 5-level rating scale questionnaire with a dual response format. The respondents were asked to provide information on both the current and desired conditions and the PNImodified index. Step 2: Study the approach to material management of educational institutions using qualitative data collection. The informants were 5 experts who were selected by purposive sampling. The instrument used was an interview. The data was analyzed using content analysis. The results of the research found that: 1) The need for material management of educational institutions under the Office of the Secondary Education Area, Chiang Rai, the aspect with the highest need index is material management, followed by procurement. 2) Guidelines for the management of supplies of educational institutions under the Secondary Education Area Office Chiang Rai in each aspect as follows: 2.1) In terms of material management, the educational institution should have a meeting to appoint a committee to cover each area. The work has an annual project plan in advance and has specified details according to the regulations, rules, and criteria of the procurement work that are correct and clear. 2.2) In terms of procurement, educational institutions should hold meetings to appoint committees to cover each task, plan operations to meet objectives, and prepare written documents with relevant parties signing them according to the procurement regulations
