Abstract:
This research aimed to investigate the causes and errors in the installation process of solar rooftop electrical systems, as well as to propose systematic approaches to reduce such errors by applying the PDCA framework in combination with Lean (MUDA) and SWOT analysis. Data were collected through field observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis from a case study of a 309 kWp solar rooftop project in the central region of Thailand.
The findings revealed that process improvement significantly enhanced project performance in terms of time, cost, and quality. The overall project duration was reduced from 306 days to 274 days, representing a decrease of approximately 10.46%, while project management costs were reduced by 11.68%. Moreover, stricter safety measures and more frequent inspections effectively minimized risks and improved the quality of the installation process. These outcomes highlight the importance of proactive management and the application of quality tools to ensure standardized, efficient, and customer-oriented solar rooftop installation projects.
