Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to 1) compare the reading ability in Thai Subject of Mathayomsuksa 2 students between before and after learning by cooperative learning management with CIRC technique and 2) compare the Thai reading ability of Mathayomsuksa 2 students after learning by cooperative learning management with CIRC technique with the criteria 70 % of total score. The sample group was 33 Mathayomsuksa 2 students of Photisansuksa School that obtained by cluster random sampling. The instruments in this study were 1) the 3 lesson plans regarding to the cooperative learning management with CIRC technique with the most appropriate level (x̅= 4.84, S.D. = 0.20) and 2) the 30 items of Thai reading ability assessment test with the validity between 0.67-1.00, the difficulty between 0.36-0.64, the discrimination between 0.20-0.57 and the reliability at 0.72. The statistics used for data analysis were by mean, standard deviation, t-test for dependent sample and t-test for one sample.
The study findings were as follows:
1. The Mathayomsuksa 2 students were received the cooperative learning management with CIRC technique had a mean score of Thai reading ability before learning equal to 9.94, a standard deviation equal to 2.79 and a mean score of Thai reading ability after learning by the cooperative learning management with CIRC technique equal to 22.09, with a standard deviation equal to 2.34 that after learning was higher than before learning with statistically significant at the .05 level.2. The Mathayomsuksa 2 students were received the cooperative learning management with CIRC technique had a mean score of Thai reading ability after learning equal to 22.09, a standard deviation equal to 2.34 that after learning was higher than the criteria 70 percent of full score with statistically significant at the .05 level.
