Abstract:
A Study of Public Attitudes Towards Government Information Dissemination by Klaeng Kachet Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang Rayong District, Rayong Province" aimed to examine public attitudes towards government information dissemination by Klaeng Kachet Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang Rayong District, Rayong Province. The sample consisted of 374 residents within the Klaeng Kachet Subdistrict Municipality area, selected through stratified random sampling. Data was collected using questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. T-test was employed to compare differences between two independent variable groups, and One-way ANOVA was utilized for further analysis.
The findings revealed that overall public attitudes towards government information dissemination by Klaeng Kachet Subdistrict Municipality were at the highest level, with information sender and message content dimensions showing the highest mean scores, followed by information channels and information receivers, respectively. Hypothesis testing indicated that populations with different monthly incomes showed statistically significant differences in their attitudes towards government information dissemination at the .05 level for at least one group. However, no significant differences were found among populations with different gender, age, education level, marital status, occupation, and duration of residence in the community.
Research recommendations suggest that administrators should implement policies to provide training for citizens regarding the Official Information Act B.E. 2540 (1997), promote public relations personnel development, adjust public relations strategies to be more proactive, and conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of public relations activities. Furthermore, information dissemination channels should be modernized and diversified to maximize the
efficiency of information distribution and public accessibility.
