Abstract:
The objectives of this research are: (1) To study the conditions, problems, and needs for developing management skills; (2) To create a model for developing management skills; and (3) To evaluate the model for developing management skills for tourism industry operators in the Andaman Triangle region. The research was conducted using structured interviews in the first round, followed by questionnaires with five rating levels in the second and third rounds. Data were analyzed using content analysis, and the median and quartile deviation were calculated. The evaluation of the management skill development model for entrepreneurs was conducted through a panel discussion with 9 experts, who assessed the model's suitability, feasibility, and usefulness. The elements of the model were summarized and discussed. The data was analyzed using content analysis, with frequent enumeration and percentage calculations.The findings are as follows:1. Present conditions indicate that operators employed the followingmanagement skills: Thinking and decision-making skills:These are used frequently for problem-solving. Operational experience:This experience is applied to resolve recurring situations. Group process:This process is utilized for planning, communication,and short-term management. Regarding the constructed model, the experts consistently agreed that the model exhibited high to the highest level of suitability (Md between 4.00-5.00, IR = 0.00-0.50). The model consisted of three major components: Objectives; The Contents of the Management Skills; and Development Methods. All nine experts, accounting for 100 percent, commented on the evaluation of the management skill development model for entrepreneurs. They agreed that the elements of themodel are appropriate, feasible, and helpful. 3. These experts proposed adding evaluation models with four levels of measurement: Level 1:Reaction Measurement -An assessment of the satisfaction of trainees. Level 2:Learning Measurement -A review of learning outcomes by examining knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes. Level 3:Measurement of Work Behavior -An assessment conducted three months after trainees return to work. Level 4:Measurement of Organizational Results -An evaluation to determine whether the training has had a positive impact on the organization, based on the administrative success indicators of the entrepreneur.
