CAUSAL FACTORS OF WORK LIFE BALANCE AFFECTING BURNOUT OF INSTRUCTORS AT A UNIVERSITY IN NAKHON PATHOM PROVINCE, THAILAND
Abstract:
This study aims to investigate 1) the level of work stress, workload, organization climate, work life balance and burnout of instructors at a university in Nakhon Pathom province, Thailand 2) the influence of work stress, workload and organization climate on work life balance of instructors at a university in Nakhon Pathom province, Thailand 3) the influence of work life balance on burnout of instructors at a university in Nakhon Pathom province, Thailand. The quantitative researched method was employed and questionnaires were used as instruments to collect data. The sample was 280 instructors of a university in Nakhon Pathom province and the sampling was stratified random. Data were analyzed by using percentage statistics, frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation, Pearsons correlation coefficient and multiple regression. The result showed that the level of workload and organization climate were high levels. The result of work life balance and burnout were moderate levels and the result of work stress was low level. The result of hypotheses testing found that work stress had a negative influence on work life balance, Workload had a negative influence on work life balance, Organization climate had a positive influence on work life balance, Work life balance stress had a negative influence on burnout with statistical significance at level 0.05.
