Development of Creative Thinking and Learning Achievement of Prathomsuksa 5 Students on the Unit of Forces in Daily Life Using Problem-Based Learning Integrated with Mind Mapping
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to: 1) construct lesson plans based on problem-based learning integrated with mind mapping on the unit of Forces in Daily Life for Prathomsuksa 5 students to meet the criteria efficiency of 80/80, 2) compare students creative thinking before and after intervention, 3) compare students learning achievement before and after the intervention, and 4) examine the students satisfaction toward the constructed learning management. The samples consisted of 13 Prathomsuksa 5 students from That Na Weng Witthaya School, Mueang Sakon Nakhon District, Sakon Nakhon Province, under Sakon Nakhon Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, selected through cluster random sampling during the second semester of the 2024 academic year. The research instruments included: 1) lesson plans based on problem-based learning integrated with mind mapping, 2) a creative thinking test, 3) a learning achievement test, and 4) a satisfaction questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis consisted of percentages, mean, standard deviation, and t-test for Dependent Samples.
The research findings were as follows:
1) The lesson plans on the unit of Forces in Daily Life, based on the problem-based learning integrated with mind mapping for Prathomsuksa 5 students, had an efficiency of 83.78/84.67, which was higher than the set criteria of 80/80.
2) The students creative thinking after the intervention was higher than that of before the intervention at the .01 level of significance.
3) The students learning achievement after the intervention was higher than that of before the intervention at the .01 level of significance.
4) The students satisfaction toward the developed learning management was at a high level.
