Abstract:
This research aimed: 1) to study the operation of the student support system in schools under Bangkhen District Office, Bangkok, 2) to compare the operation of the school support system under Bangkhen District Office, Bangkok, classified by gender, work experience and level of the class teachers, 3) to study guidelines for developing the student support system under Bangkhen District Office, Bangkok. Samples were 136 class teachers by stratified random sampling the sample size from Yamane formula. The tool was a 5-rating scale questionnaire which had the index of item objective congruence (IOC) 0.6-1 and a reliability of 0.96. Data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and One-way ANOVA.
The findings were as follows: 1) The operation of the student support system in overall and each aspect were at a high level: student screening, student promotion, individualization, student referral, and student prevention and problem-solving, respectively. 2) The comparison of the student support system operations classified by gender in overall and each aspect were not significant different except for student support, statistically significant difference at the .05 level. Female class teachers operated more student support systems than male class teachers; classifying by their operational experiences and grade levels of class teachers in overall and each aspect were not different. 3) The guidelines of the student care and support system operation in schools must collect the students' data by using various instruments and be systematically stored in order to be convenient to screen the students in groups. Data must be developed, promoted, prevented and revised the students' problems appropriately. Coordination of all parties must be done to refer the students inside and outside of the schools.
