Factors affecting the delay in considering the certification of building construction and modification in the opinions of the building control officers, office of public works, Bangkok
Abstract:
This study aims to analyze the sequence and significance of factors influencing delays in the consideration of construction permit issuance or modification, including examining the impact of educational qualifications and job positions of officials involved in decision-making. The study relies on a sample population of officials from the Department of Building Control, Bangkok, employing questionnaires for data collection and statistical methods such as mean, standard deviation, one-way ANOVA, and independent sample t-test for data analysis.
The results indicate that (1) information dissemination and publicizing related information emerge as the most significant factors among the three main factors studied; (2) the relative importance index (RII) for information dissemination and publicizing related information ranks highest at 80.31 percent among the three main factors; and (3) factors of educational qualification and job position of the officers did not affect the decision for the importance of the three main factors. As a result, the government agencies involved in the construction permit process should develop a comprehensive manual with clear and concise information for public presentation, ensuring efficient resolution of requests for construction permit issuance or modification.
