Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to 1) study the level of academic leadership of school administrators, 2) study the level of learning organization in schools, and 3) analyze the academic leadership of school administrators affecting learning organization in schools.
The research samples were 214 teachers in the schools under the Office of Samut Songkhram Primary Educational Service Area, derived by proportional stratified random sampling according to district size. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and stepwise multiple regression.
The research results were as follows:
1. Overall and in specific aspects, the academic leadership of school administrators was at a high level (x ̅ = 4.39, S.D. = 0.42). The aspects included academic leadership behavior (x ̅ = 4.42, S.D. = 0.48), achievement in academic leadership work
(x ̅ = 4.40, S.D. = 0.42), roles of academic leaders (x ̅ = 4.38, S.D. = 0.45), and characteristics
of academic leaders (x ̅ = 4.37, S.D. = 0.50), respectively.
2. Overall and in specific aspects, the learning organization in schools was at a high level (x ̅ = 4.41, S.D. = 0.41). The aspects included team learning (x ̅ = 4.46, S.D. = 0.48), building shared vision (x ̅ = 4.42, S.D. = 0.49), systems thinking (x ̅ = 4.40, S.D. = 0.46), personal mastery (x ̅ = 4.39, S.D. = 0.46), and mental models (x ̅ = 4.39, S.D. = 0.50), respectively.
3. The academic leadership of school administrators in the aspects of achievement in academic leadership work (X4), characteristics of academic leaders (X1), and roles of academic leaders (X3) affected the learning organization in schools. They together predicted the academic leadership of school administrators at the percentage of 72.30 with statistical significance at the .01 level. The regression equation was: Y ̂tot = 0.65 + 0.58 (X4) + 0.14 (X1) + 0.13 (X3).
