Abstract:
This research focuses on improving the quotation process of a PET mold manufacturing business, starting from receiving customer requests to issuing service quotations. The study identified several redundant and complex taskssuch as data entry, information retrieval, cost calculation, and mold component summarizationthat contributed to inefficiencies. To address these issues, an application was developed based on the ECRS (Eliminate, Combine, Rearrange, Simplify) principles to streamline operations. Industrial engineering tools, including process analysis, process charts, flow diagrams, and cause-and-effect diagrams, were employed to guide system development. The application was built using AppSheet and integrated with Google Sheets for database management. It supports cost calculation, quotation generation, and notifications to relevant personnel. The new system reduced the number of workflow steps from 8 to 5 and cut processing time to 65.2% of the original 148.05 minutes. User feedback showed a high level of satisfaction, indicating improved operational efficiency.
