Abstract:
The study consisted of the following objectives: 1) to investigate the opinion level on learning management of local leaders in Pa Sang District, Lamphun Province; 2) to compare the opinion level on learning management of local leaders in Pa Sang District, Lamphun Province; and 3) to propose an application of Paññāvuḍḍhi to promote learning management of local leaders in Pa Sang District, Lamphun Province.
The study applied a mixed-methods research, which included both quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative method consisted of population who were local leaders in Pasang District, in a total of 310 persons. While a sample group used Taro Yamane formula to select 175 persons. The data were collected by employing questionnaire, and obtained data were analyzed using Statistic Program for the Social Sciences to find frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, f-test, One-Way ANOVA, Least Significant Difference (LSD). In terms of qualitative method, the data were collected via the interviews with 10 persons. The obtained data were grouped and analyzed using the content analysis technique before being presented in the form of descriptive person references.
The finding of the research were as follows :
1. The level of knowledge management of local leaders in Pasang District, Lamphun Province is overall at a high level (x̄ = 4.39 S.D. = 0.411). When each aspect is considered, it is found that knowledge generation and acquisition is at a high level (x̄ = 4.41 S.D. = 0.440), followed by knowledge management and storage that is at a high level (x̄ = 4.39 S.D. = 0.466), knowledge distribution that is at a high level (x̄ = 4.38 S.D. = 0.509) and knowledge application in work performance that is also at a high level (x̄ = 4.39 S.D. = 0.470 ), respectively.
2. From comparing the opinion level on learning management according to Paññāvuḍḍhi (virtues conducive to growth in wisdom), it is discovered that local leaders with different age have different knowledge management (F=3.206, Sig=0.028). When each aspect is taken into account, it is found as follows: knowledge management and storage (F=3.206, Sig=0.043) and knowledge application in work performance (F=3.427, Sig=0.035). The Least Significant Difference (LSD) was tested with knowledge management and storage as well as knowledge application in work operation, and the results revealed that local leaders between the ages of 20 and 30 and those between the ages of 31 and 40 have higher knowledge management and storage than those over the age of 51, with a statistical significance of 0.05. While the local leaders between the ages of 20 30 and those between the ages of 30 40 years have higher knowledge application in work performance than those over the age of 51, with a statistical significance of 0.05.
3. The guidelines for applying Paññāvuḍḍhi to promote knowledge management of local leaders in Pasang District, Lamphun Province are: (1) Sappurisasaṃseva refers to the association with good and wise persons; (2) Saddhammassavana prefers to hearing good things in order to broaden one's knowledge and create a new body of knowledge; (3) Yonisomanasikāra refers to analytical reflection through the use of wisdom and mindfulness; and (4) Dhammānudhammapaṭipatti refers to living in conformity with the Dhamma and scientific principles in work performance, as well as having sincerity, attentiveness, tolerance, and patience towards problems and difficulties."
