Abstract:
The study consisted of the following objectives: 1) to investigate the opinion level on the quality of life of personnel at Wiang Yong Subdistrict Municipality, in Mueang Lamphun District, Lamphun Province; 2) to compare the opinions on the quality of life of personnel at Wiang Yong Subdistrict Municipality, in Mueang Lamphun District, Lamphun Province; and 3) to propose the guidelines for strengthening the quality of life according to Tisikkhā of personnel at Wiang Yong Subdistrict Municipality, in Mueang Lamphun District, Lamphun Province.
The study used a mixed-methods research, with the quantitative method employing a questionnaire having a reliability of 0.856. The population included 137 personnel of Wiang Yong Subdistrict Municipality, in Mueang Lamphun District, Lamphun Province. A sample group of 103 people was chosen using the Taro Yamane formula. The obtained data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, f-test, One-Way ANOVA, and Least Significant Difference (LSD). The qualitative method used in-depth interviews with 10 key informants, and the acquired data used data grouping for content analysis.
From the study, the following results are found :
1) The level of quality of life of personnel at Wiang Yong Subdistrict Municipality, in Mueang Lamphun District, Lamphun Province is overall at a high level (x̄ = 3.84, S.D. = 0.587). When each aspect is considered, it is found that personnel at Wiang Yong Subdistrict Municipality has the quality of life in the following aspects at a high level: Society (x̄ = 4.00, S.D. = 0.621), physical body (x̄ = 3.82, S.D. = 0.727), mentality
(x̄ = 3.78, S.D. = 0.633), and environment (x̄ = 3.74, S.D. = 0.670), respectively.
2) From comparing the opinions on the quality of life of personnel at Wiang Yong Subdistrict Municipality, in Mueang Lamphun District, Lamphun Province classified by gender, age, income, educational level, status, and position, it is discovered that overall there is no difference; therefore, denying the null hypothesis.
3) The guidelines for enhancing the quality of life according to Tisikkhā of personnel at Wiang Yong Subdistrict Municipality, in Mueang Lamphun District, Lamphun Province are found as follows: (1) On Sīla (morality), there is a guideline in managing better health welfare for personnel as well as planning activities that can enhance health and personality so personnel can become happier and more credible in performing their duties; (3) On Samadhi (concentration), there is an arrangement of meditation practice to practice concentration, a recreational activity to establish positive relationships and unity among personnel, and an atmosphere where personnel feel comfortable with good mental immunity; and (3) On Paññā (wisdom), there is a curriculum to improve one's quality of life that can be used with oneself, family, work, and society to create understanding via the learning process as well as examining and pondering one's experience, work performance, and relationships with others. This will lead to appropriate self-development and happiness in daily life.""
