Abstract:
This research aimed to present the participation guidelines of the Thai Lom community in tourism management of Lom Sak Municipality, Lom Sak District, Phetchabun Province. This study was a mixed methods research by distributing questionnaires with confidence 0.05. A sample of 387 people was obtained by stratified random sampling out of a total population of 11,817 people. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean. standard deviation, Pearson's correlation coefficient and in-depth interview with 17 key informants selected through the purposive sampling method. Descriptive content analysis techniques were used. The studies showed that the participation of the Thai Lom community in tourism management of Lom Sak Municipality, Lom Sak District, Phetchabun Province, was tourism management with: 1) attraction causing interest in both cultural and social places and traditional dress that invited tourists to see natural attractions created by man such as having a walking street every Saturday to increase the income of the community; 2) quick access to travel; 3) there should be sufficient number of facilities and utilities in tourist attractions such as hotels, restaurants, electrical systems, water supply, communications, police boxes, security guards; 4) on the side of accommodation, there should be enough accommodation; the service was appropriate for the location; the accommodation was not far from tourist attractions; it was easy to travel and safe such as hotels and resorts; and 5) there should be recreational activities that was an important element. There should be cultural activities that caused the memories of tourists which generated income for the community.
The results revealed that
1. Participatory tourism management of the Thai Lom community in the Lom Sak municipality, Lom Sak District, Phetchabun Province according to Aparihaniyadhamma, overall, was at a high level ( x̅=3.45, S.D. = 0.32), in terms of tourism management according to 5A's principle, overall was at a high level ( x̅ =3.30, S.D. = 0.30).
2. The relationship of participation of the Thai Lom community according to Aparihaniyadhamma and tourism management based on the 5A's principle in Lom Sak Municipality, Lom Sak District, Phetchabun Province, overall, was a positive correlation at a low level, therefore rejecting the hypothesis
3. Guidelines for participatory tourism management of the Thai Lom community in Lom Sak Municipality, Lom Sak District, Phetchabun Province based on Aparihaniyadhamma found that tourism management with frequent meetings to jointly manage tourist attractions by participating in decision-making both in mapping, setting up rules, regulations and public relations and jointly making suggestions for providing information and public relations to those who came to visit and participating in the allocation of resources in the area of accommodation to maintain nature, no pollution, environmental protection and participating in thinking, planning community activities. Joint actions and evaluations were carried out."
