Abstract:
This study aimed to 1) examine the level of solid waste management behavior in Lam Phiak Subdistrict, Khon Buri District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province; and 2) explore the opinions and suggestions regarding solid waste management of people within the jurisdiction of Lam Phiak Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The population consisted of 7,094 people registered in the 12 villages under the administrative organization. The sample size, determined by using Taro Yamane's table, was 378 people, selected proportionately across the villages using simple random sampling. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The findings showed that household solid waste management behavior was at a high level overall (X=3.96). When analyzed by aspect, it was found that all aspects were rated at a high level, with the highest mean score in reducing waste (REDUCE) (X = 3.73), followed by reusing (REUSE) (X = 3.70), and the lowest in recycling (RECYCLE) (X = 3.63). Suggestions included providing bins for different types of waste, establishing waste disposal pits for each community, and organizing training sessions to educate the public on the importance of proper solid waste management.
