Abstract:
This dissertation entitled The Operational Guidelines according to the Six Missions of the Sangha in Nakhonratchasima Province has three objectives: 1) to study the six missions operated by the ecclesiastical Buddhist Sangha in Nakhon Ratchasima province, 2) to study the states of problem on the six missions operated by the ecclesiastical Buddhist Sangha in Nakhon Ratchasima province, and 3) to propose the guidelines in operating six missions to the ecclesiastical Buddhist Sangha in Nakhon Ratchasima province. This is qualitative research. This research employed Nakhon Ratchasima as the area of research, eighty-six population were used in the study. In addition, the interview and focus group-discussion were also included. In the six missions operated by the ecclesiastical Buddhist Sangha in Nakhon Ratchasima, they are as follows: 1) in the governing mission there appear meeting in all levels in order to provide the good regulations to the ecclesiastical Buddhist Sangha, 2) in the religious education there appear the support of carrying out the learning and teaching to the Buddhist monks and laity, 3) in the propagation mission there appear the inspection and visit in the areas to give knowledge to the community, 4) in the public welfare there appear the reformation and restoration to temples, homes, schools which are in need, 5) in the educational support to public there appear the provision of scholarship including educational instruments, and 6) in the public aid the Buddhist monks play the supportive role in helping people when in need while encountering the natural disastrous calamity, flood, storm, and fire in order to provide a sea of help to Buddhist monks and lay people.
As far as the states of problem in the operating six missions by the ecclesiastical Buddhist Sangha in Nakhon Ratchasima province are concerned, they were of : 1) in the states of problem on the governing the Buddhist monks do not pay proper attention to the meetings because of lack certain responsibility, 2) in the states of problem on the religious education the Buddhist monks do not pay proper attention to the given education because of lack of constant support of budget, 3) in the states of problem on the propagation there are no operational planning and support of activity, 4) in the states of problem on public welfare there appear the improper management because there is no supportive budget in restoration, 5) in the states of problem on educational aid there appear no fund in supporting the education and there is no educational instruments, and 6) in the states of problem on public aid there are no cooperation and help provided to those who face the difficulties and moreover there is not real support being carried out to those who suffered. The guidelines to carry out the six missions by the ecclesiastical Buddhist Sangha in Nakhon Ratchasima province proposed by this research are of six aspects: 1) in the governing there should follow seven kinds of Aparihãniyadhamma, Dhamma and Vinaya, the harmony of the Sangha and respect to duty, 2) in education there should follow the five kinds of power, principle of learning, gratitude, preservation of Dhamma and supportive budget, 3) in propagation there should attach to the four social principles of solidarity in order to provide the good relationship, the support of missionary works, and encouraging faith while propagating Buddhism, 4) in the pubic welfare there should follow the seven principles of wise men in order to get works developed and managed clearly, the guidelines to restoration are also needed, 5) in the educational aid it is necessary for Buddhist monks to follow six kinds of Sãrãṇĩyadhamma, the should provide the support to learning and teaching, budget support, the creation of good relationship to the community, and 6) in the public aid there should follow threefold training, support their relatives, helping one another while providing certain aids those in need at the time of difficulties caused by natural disasters.
