Abstract:
This research aims to study the administration and guidelines of educational institutions based on the Four Sublime States of Mind (Brahmavihāra) in personnel management by school administrators under the Office of Primary Education Service Area 4 in Khon Kaen Province. Additionally, it seeks to propose developmental approaches for applying the Four Sublime States of Mind in personnel management within these institutions. The research employs a mixed-method approach, incorporating quantitative research through questionnaires completed by 311 participants (sample) and qualitative research involving interviews with 12 key informants. Quantitative data were analyzed using basic statistical methods, while qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis.
The research findings revealed the following:
1) Personnel Management Based on the Four Sublime States of Mind: Overall, the implementation of personnel management based on the Four Sublime States of Mind by school administrators in the Office of Primary Education Service Area 4 in Khon Kaen Province was found to be at a high level. In descending order of emphasis, the principles were: Compassion (Karunā); Sympathetic Joy (Muditā); Loving-kindness (Mettā); Equanimity (Upekkhā).
2) Guidelines for Personnel Management Based on the Four Sublime States of Mind: Administrators exhibit fairness in setting equitable criteria for staff recruitment. Administrators provide work-related advice with love and goodwill. They offer guidance and problem-solving assistance when staff encounter work-related challenges. Administrators express genuine concern by inquiring about employees' work and personal lives. They actively support and encourage subordinates to maintain discipline, morality, and ethics. Administrators promote continuing education for career advancement and motivate subordinates or others to succeed in their assigned tasks. They demonstrate impartiality by making decisions based on facts and ensuring fairness and equality for all subordinates.
