Abstract:
The purpose of this research were to 1) study the level of opinions on internal
supervision that affects the STEM education management of teachers in schools in Buriram Province; 2) study the level of opinion
regarding STEM education management by teachers in schools in Buriram Province; 3) study the relationship between internal supervision and STEM
education management by teachers in schools in Buriram Province; 4) create a forecasting equation for internal supervision affecting STEM education management by teachers in schools in
Buriram Province. The sample group consists of 240 teachers obtained from sample determination for stepwise regression analysis, using a sample group of at least 60 times the number of predictor variables. This research had 4 predictor variables and used a multi-stage random sampling method. The research instrument used includes a questionnaire with a discriminative power between .497-.901 and a reliability value of .982 for the entire instrument.
The statistics used for data analysis include percentages, means, standard deviations, Pearson correlation coefficient analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows:
1. Opinions on internal supervision that affect the management of STEM education learning by teachers in schools in Buriram Province were at a high level. When considering the
specific aspects, it was found that the aspect with the highest average was the aspect of
supervision implementation, followed by the aspect of supervision planning, and then the aspects
of monitoring, evaluation, improvement, and dissemination in order. The aspect with the lowest
average was the aspect of studying the current situation, problems, and needs2. Opinions on STEM learning management by teachers in schools in Buriram Province were generally at a high level. When considering the specific stages, it was found that the stage with the highest average was the stage of presenting results, followed by the stage of testing and evaluation, the stage of finding related concepts, and the stage of planning and development, in that order. The stage with the lowest average was the stage of identifying problems.
3. Internal supervision and STEM learning management of teachers in schools in Buriram Province, as a whole, There was a statistically significant positive correlation at the level of .01. The aspect that has the highest correlation with the STEM education management of teachers in schools in Buriram Province was the aspect of monitoring, evaluating, improving, and disseminating. Following that was the aspect concerning the study of the current situation, problems, and needs related to supervision practices. The aspect that had the lowest correlation with the STEM education management of teachers in schools were the aspect of planning supervision.
4. Internal supervision that affected the management of STEM education by teachers in Buriram Province could predict the management of STEM education by teachers in Buriram Province at 32.40%, resulting in the best predictive equation for the research.
The equation as raw scores:
Y' = 1.395 + .410X, +.251X2
The equation as standardized scores:
Zy = .398Zx1 + .2542x2
