Abstract:
The study towards the leadership behavior of the school administrators under the Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 aimed to study and compare the level of the leadership behavior of the school administrators, classified by according to gender, work experience and school size, and to study the guidelines to develop the leadership behavior of the school administrators. The samples were 331 school administrators and the teachers and 5 key information. The instruments were 5-rating scale questionnaire and interview form. The statistics were percentage, mean, Standard deviation, t-test, One- way ANOVA and Scheffe. The results of this study showed that: 1) Overall, and each aspect the study of the leadership behavior of the school administrators were at a high level. 2) The result of the comparison in the level of the leadership behavior of the school administrators classified by gender in overall and the improvements and the coordination were statistically significant difference at .05 level. 3) The result of analysis classified by work experience found that in overall and each aspect were no different. When considered each aspect found that was the coordination statistically significant different at .05 level, and 4) The result of the analysis in the guidelines to develop the leadership behavior of the school administrators it was found that the respect was at the highest level. It might be that the administrators accepted the different opinions, gave the respect, accepted the knowledge, the abilities, the others' expertise and showed the self-respect and others among the academic staff. The persuasive got the least average. It might be that the administrators were unable to clarify the policy, the goals and the operational guidelines to the teachers. The administrators lacked of the persuasive skills or assigned the unclear tasks so that the subordinates might be confused. Moreover, the administrators might be unable to ease the tension in the meetings and lacked of rhetoric and friendly talk with the subordinates.
