Abstract:
This research purposes are to study the law-abiding behavior of youth in Bangkok and to study the factors affecting the law-abiding behavior of youth in Bangkok. The research instruments used utilizes two methods: a document survey to identify the level of law-violating behavior in youth in which considered youths behavior corresponding positively to legislation and have a tendency to comply with the law and the justice process, and data collection using a questionnaire tool from October 1, 2024 to November 1, 2024 from youth in university in Bangkok with the reliability of 0.90. The statistical tools used for data analysis are percentages mean standard deviation and correlation coefficients. The results indicates that most of the behavior of obeying traffic laws had never violated traffic laws composited of 4 factors affecting the law-abiding behavior of the youth: (1) the level of knowledge about traffic laws was at a high level, (2) opinions about the severity of traffic laws in general were at a moderate level, (3) opinions about the level of law enforcement were at a moderate level, and (4) acceptance of illegal behavior in society was at a moderate level. Thus, the organization directly responsible for enforcing traffic laws should have straighten measurement in enforcing the traffic laws in which extended to legal provision. The finding includes the amendment of traffic laws and penalties to be consistent with the current situation, such as increasing fines or penalties based on the severity of the offenses to create fear of wrongdoing, and additionally, the efficiency of traffic-related agencies should be improved to ensure efficient operations.
