Abstract:
Objectives of this research were: 1.To study the level of of cultural tourism attractions management of monasteries according to the Sappāya principle at Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, 2. To study the relationship between the Sappāya principle and the cultural tourism attactions management of monasteries at Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, and 3. To propose guidelines for the cultural tourism attractions management of monasteries at Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The research methodology was the mixed methods. The quantitative research by survey method, collected data using questionnaires with a total confidence value of 0.989 from 399 samples who were people at the tourist attractions of monasteries at Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The data were analyzed using a ready-made social science program using descriptive statistics: percentages, averages, standard deviations and inferential statistics using Pearson's correlation coefficient. The qualitative research, data were collected by in-depth interviewing 10 key informants and analyzed by descriptive interpretation.
Findings were as follows:
1. The level of cultural tourism attractions management of monasteries at Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, by overall, was at a high level (x̅=3.67, S.D.=0.43) and when considered each aspect individually, it was found that the aspect with the highest average was public relations ( x̅ =3.71, S.D.=0.46), followed by personnel (x̅=3.68, S.D.=0.49) and the aspect with the lowest average was tourism program preparation (x̅=3.63, S.D. x̅=0.61).
2. The relationship between the Sappāya principle and the cultural tourism attractions management of monasteries Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, was found that Sappāya principle had the positive relationship with the cultural tourism attractions management of monasteries at Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, at a high level (r)=0.774**.
3. Guidelines for the cultural tourism attractions management of monasteries at Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, were found that the principles of Sappāya, suitability, namely, place suitability, food suitability, person suitability, Dhamma suitability. These above principles were the enhancers of the cultural tourism attractions management of monasteries at Pak Chong District, in 5 aspects as follows: 1) Location; by campaigning to help maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the monasteries. Organize the monasteries attractions appropriately and sightseeing sites in good order, clean without pollutions,. 2) Personnel; consisting of building a team with knowledge, skills and attention to service, arranging personnel appropriately and capableof increasing the necessary experience and skills for tourism personnel, 3) Internal activities; including developing tourism activities to help create new opportunities for the community. Tourism activities of various monasteries should be improved, more modern. Interesting events such as festivals should be added such as local festivals and Dhamma discourse, 4) Tourism program preparation; monasteries tourism program should be made neatly and carefully. Organize programs to learn about local traditions, arts and culture, historical monasteries sight seeing. 5) Public relations; including raising awareness and understanding of the culture and traditions of the monasteries. Building understanding and cooperation between the community and the monasteries Create interesting content for tourists.
