Abstract:
The objectives of this study were to: 1) compare the learning achievement in science and technology subject of Matthayomsuksa 1 students before and after receiving inquiry-based learning, and 2) compare the learning achievement in science and technology subject of Matthayomsuksa 1 students after receiving inquiry-based learning against a 70% criteria of the total score. The sample group used in this study consisted of 30 Matthayomsuksa 1 students from Ban Bung Ai Jiem School, selected through cluster sampling. The tools employed in the study included: 1) The 3 most appropriate lesson plans, and 2) the achievement assessment test in the subject of science and technology, which was in a multiple-choice format with 4 options and consisted of 30 questions. This test had a validity coefficient ranging from 0.67-1.00, a difficulty level between 0.50-0.67, a discrimination index between 0.20-0.62, and a reliability value of 0.81. The statistical methods used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation, t-test independent samples, and one-sample t-test.
The study findings were as follows:
1) Matthayomsuksa 1 students after learning through inquiry-based learning achievement management of science and technology subject had the pre-test score at 12.00 with a standard deviation of 1.53, while the average of the post-test score was 25.90with a standard deviation of 2.71 The post-test learning achievement in science was significantly higher than pre-test achievement at the .05 level.
2) Matthayomsuksa 1 students after learning through inquiry-based learning achievement management of science and technology subject achieved an average score of 25.90 with a standard deviation of 2.71, which significantly exceeded the 70% criteria of the total score at the .05 level.
