Positive thinking is a way of thinking that encourages and motivates people to go through activities, problems, and obstacles in life. Factors of positive thinking include confidence, effort, mindfulness, concentration and adversity of problems. It is focused on hope, targeting outputs and gaining objective success as a result.
Positive thinking in Buddhism starts from thinking based on truth and seeking truths for solving problems and creating benefit and happiness. The Buddhist positive thinking is regarded as Yonisomanasikara or systematic thinking. It referred to the wholesome as an index by identifying issues related to life and coming to a compete end of suffering. The positive thinking was attached on a good man by guiding to the right-thinking process.
Integration of a reinforcement of positive thinking according to Buddhism is based on the five driving forces of thoughts as a concept as follows;
1. The positive thinking is based on the right confidence; one's actions, results of one's actions and one's responsibility, and the wisdom from the Buddha's enlightenment. The thinking that aligns with these principles leads to the right goal.
2. The positive thinking is based on one's effort, namely, the effort to abandon the wrong things, to be careful in not making mistakes, to improve one's skills and to keep working standards.
3. The positive thinking is based on the mindfulness, namely, the heedfulness on living consisting of time, age, period of life, health, education and meditation. It must be mindful in preventing work from damages.
4. The positive thinking is based on the concentration and committed determination from withstanding the friction of the internal impediment, that is the negative thoughts and emotions, and the external impediment consisting of person, time, and/or place being obstacle to the concentration.
5. The positive thinking is based on prudence and wisdom, both on the activities and solutions that arise. It is generated by the process of study, analysis, consideration and decision making
Integration of the positive thinking through the 5-step process of thinking is able to lead to the Truth and to find the Truth, to solve problems, and to gain the multidimensional utility. The 5-step process of thinking dynamics that filter the thoughts. produces positive results automatically whether those who face the negative person, crisis, the unwanted place, or the negative state could generate to the positive dimension so far. The study synthesis is demonstrated in the model called "TISU Model."
