The Development of a Model for Promotion of Moral and Ethical Conducts of the Students in the Schools under the Office of Roi Et Primary Educational Service Area
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were 1) to study the factors and indicators 2) to examine the model of the structure of promotion of moral and ethical conducts of the students in the schools and 3) to create a model and guidelines for promotion of moral and ethical conduct of the students in the schools under The Office of Roi Et Primary Educational Service Area. This research is mixed-method research. The research sample group consists of 502 teachers and 10 experts. The research instruments included questionnaires, interviews, and assessments of factors and indicators. Statistical analysis involved percentages, means, and standard deviations. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were employed following the PDSA-CRE Model as guidelines for promoting ethics and morality among students. The results of the research were found: 1) A Model for Promotion of Moral and Ethical Conducts of the Students in the Schools under The Office of Roi Et Primary Educational Service Area consist of three factors: (1) School management by administrators to promote ethics and morality, comprising 6 first order indicators and 37 second order indicators (2) Promotion of ethics and morality among students by teachers, comprising 4 first order indicators and 23 second order indicators (3) Ethical behaviors of students, comprising 5 first order indicators and 26 second order indicators. 2) The examination of the structural equation model reveals that school management by administrators has a direct influence on the ethical behavior of students, and school management by administrators also directly influences the promotion of moral and ethics among students. Additionally, the promotion of moral and ethics among students has a direct impact on the ethical behavior of students, and school management by administrators influences the ethical behavior of students indirectly through the promotion of ethics and morality among students by teachers. 3) The model for promoting moral and ethics among students, developed model as an innovation, comprises 6 indicators for administration and 4 indicators for promotion. The indicators supporting success are based on the PDSA-CRE model. Meanwhile, the guidelines for promoting morality and ethics among students consist of 4 indicators: raising awareness, instilling ethical values, fostering commitment, and encouraging ethical behavior.
