Abstract:
Studies on water quality, sediment quality and concentration of heavy metals in water, total suspended solids and sediment in the Tha Chin Estuary , Samutsakhon, Thailand, were carried out in May August and November ,2013. February , 2014 . April and July, 2019. There are representative dry, early loading, mid loading and late loading periods. samples from 25 stations were collected. the results demonstrate that the dissolved oxygen in the area were 0.5-10.0 mg/l. it in mid-channel less than 4 mg/l in all periods , respectively. the low dissolved oxygen indicate that the aquatic environmental deterioration of the Tha Chin Estuary has become more serious in near future. Acid Volatile Sulfides of sediment ranged between 0.001-0.982 mg/g-dry weight. these values were rather high of accumulate pollution. that is had significant correlation with total organic matter of sediments ranged between 4.5-80.4 % . There are high accumulations in the outer of the Tha Chin Estuary. The results of heavy metal contents showed that zinc, lead and copper in water ranged between 12.0-158.5 ND-9.0 and 0.5-16.0 ppb, respectively. However, most of these heavy metal were higher than standard values in April and July, 2019 except , lead a in water. Heavy metal in total suspended solids ranged between .5-341.4 ND-6.3 and ND-19.0 ppb. Heavy metal in sediment 23.7-252.8 9.6-53.5 and 4.5-80.5 ppm, respectively. most of these heavy metal were higher than standard values in April and July, 2019 similar Heavy metal in water. The results of correlation analysis revealed Heavy metal in total suspended solids had significant correlation with total suspended solids and there is had significant correlation with sediment smaller size 63 µm. all of heavy metals in sediment had significant with water content and total organic matter of sediments. Dynamic study of heavy metals in the Tha Chin Estuary. The total study duration is equal to 2,541,997.3 kg/ Study Area The concentration of zinc 65% copper 18% and lead 17% . The concentration of heavy metal in sediments 92 % in the water 4 % in total suspended solids 4 %. In 2018, the amount of heavy metals found in the Tha Chin Estuary was highest than in 2013 and 2014.
