The Effect of Cooperative Learning Management Using the TGT Technique on the Learning Achievement in Science and Technology Subjects of Prathomsuksa 4 Students
Abstract:
The purpose of this study were to: 1) compare the learning achievement in
science and technology subjects Prathomsuksa 4 students before and after receiving
TGT cooperative learning techniques; and 2) compare the learning achievement in
science and technology subjects of Prathomsuksa 4 students after receiving
cooperative learning using the TGT technique with the criterion of 75 percent of the
full score. The sample group used in this study was 9 Prathomsuksa 4 students of
Wat Ban Tan School "Sirirat Rat Witthayakhan" who were selected by cluster
sampling. The instruments used in the study were 1) 3 cooperative learning plans,
the TGT technique that had the most appropriate level ( ̅ = 4.68, S.D = 0.11) and
2) The questionnaire of science and technology achievement test of was composed
of 30 multiple-choice questions with a validity between 0.67 - 1.00, a difficulty
between 0.52 - 0.77, a discrimination power between 0.26 - 0.77, and a reliability
of 0.72. The data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and Wilcoxon
signed rank test.
The study findings were as follows:
1. Prathomsuksa 4 students who received cooperative learning using the TGT
technique had an average achievement in science and technology before learning of
17.44 with a standard deviation of 1.33 and an average score after learning of 23.00
with a standard deviation of 2.23, which was significantly higher than before learning
at the .05 level.
2. Prathomsuksa 4 students who received cooperative learning management
using the TGT technique had an average achievement in science and technology of
23.00 with a standard deviation of 2.23, which was higher than the 75 percent
criterion of the full score, with statistical significance at the .05 level.
