A Construction of Strategic Guidelines for Discipline's Supervision of the Instructors in Vocational College: A Case Study of Guangxi Agricultural Vocational Technology University
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were: 1) to investigate the opinions of students and teachers/administrators towards problems of discipline's supervision of the instructors in vocational college.2) to investigate the opinions of students and teachers/administrators towards needs of discipline's supervision of the instructors in vocational college.3) to construct strategic. guidelines for discipline's supervision of the Instructors in vocational college. In this research, Guangxi Agricultural Vocational and Technical University was used as a case study. The population will be divided into 2 groups, namely, 306 students, 64 teachers and administrators. For the improvement and correctness of the constructed strategic guidelines, the samples were the 3 Chinese specialists. The research instruments employed in this study were: questionnaires with 45 questions with 5 rating scales. The information and data collected were analyzed and presented in terms of frequency count, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results of this study indicated that the problem of discipline's supervision of the Instructors in Vocational. College were rated in the "highest" level. In addition, needs of strategic guidelines for A Construction of Strategic Guidelines for Discipline's Supervision of The Instructors in Vocational College was also rated in the "highest" level. According to the results of this study, The strategic guideline consists of five units, namely:1) Purpose of Supervision. 2) Composition and main duties of the supervisory group. 2) Rules for the implementation of the work of the school teaching supervision team. 3) The main forms and methods of the work of teaching supervision. 4) Principles of dealing with the results: 5) The working system of teaching supervision. All 5 units are assessed by three experts for the correctness and suitability of the content and are expressed in terns of an IOC (Index of Congruence) value. All the four units were evaluated and the IOC value values ranging from 0.66 to 1.0, indicating that the formulated strategic guidelines for Guangxi Agricultural Vocational Technology University to construct discipline's supervision of the instructors in vocational college are acceptable and can be used as the strategic guidelines for Guangxi Agricultural Vocational Technology University to construct discipline's supervision of the instructors in vocational college
