Abstract:
This study aims at investigating the content features presented by the Facebook Fanpage named "Kew Tum". Also, this study explores the meanings of the messages that are expressed to their target audience, and interpret the content and its applicability adopted by their top fans depending on education, way of life, working experiences, attitudes, worldviews, social context, and cultures. The participants are the founder who set up this Facebook Fanpage and the top fans who are in the studying and working age. This study collected the top five popular contents from January to June 2020, including 30 items. There are five concepts adopted in this study as follows; the SMCR model of communication, encoding/decoding model of communication, psychology for communication, the concept of Fan and Fanclub, and the presentation concept. The results revealed that the "Kew Tum" Facebook Fanpage presented its contents based on the plain brown paper with handwriting words and the cartoon boy created by the page. The content was demonstrated in line with the meanings intended to communicate through Facebook and mainly expressed to encourage their audience. In terms of creating the content, the sender designed the encouraging content to inspire the fans. The cartoon and natural images were provided along with the content. Moreover, the sender adopted various language strategies to draw attention to the fans.Regarding the language used for communication, the content was communicated intricately by using reasons, comparisons, quotations from other people containing useful advice, referring to the relevant stories, people, or places, giving the new simplified definitions, giving more examples, and asking questions as a tool for attracting and stimulating the audience. With regards to interpreting the content presented by the "Kew Tum" Facebook Fanpage, both of the top fans had similar opinions on the content. Their opinions were mainly encouragement on life, study, work, and affection. Significantly, their experiences and knowledge were essential factors affecting their reading comprehension and interpreting skills. Furthermore, both groups adapted the content created by the "Kew Tum" Facebook Fanpage in their daily lives as a self-reminder tip, which helps them to tackle their obstacles in life, know how to let go of what they cannot control, and strengthen themselves.
