A study of the leadership styles and their impact on employee performance
Abstract:
This research investigates the impact of different leadership stylesautocratic, demo-cratic, and laissez-faireon employee performance, focusing on the mediating role of employee satisfaction. The study highlighted the pivotal role of leadership styles in shaping the work environment and influencing employee attitudes and behaviors. It outlined how autocratic, democratic, and laissez-faire leadership styles uniquely impact organizational dynamics and employee outcomes. Through in-depth interviews, data were gathered from 20 office workers of diverse range of industries. The analysis revealed significant relationship between leadership styles and employee performance. Democratic leadership showed the most substantial positive impact on employee satisfaction and performance, while autocratic leadership had a negative effect. By adopting effective leadership styles, organizations can create a positive work environment that enhances employee satisfaction and drives the overall performance. Future research is encouraged to explore longitudinal studies and additional contextual variables for a more comprehensive understanding of these leadership styles
