Abstract:
This descriptive correlational research aimed to describe the caregiver burden and factors related to the caregiver burden of children with tracheostomy at home. The sample comprised 85 caregivers of children with tracheostomy at home receiving care at the Inpatient and Outpatient Departments, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, The Thai Red Cross Society, and the Outpatient Department of Chiangrai Prachanukroh Hospital. The sample was recruited using purposive sampling with inclusion criteria. The data collection tools consisted of the Personal Information of Caregivers and Children Questionnaire, the Caregiver Burden Questionnaire, the Caregiving Self Efficacy Questionnaire, the Social Support Questionnaire, and the Copping Questionnaire. The tools were tested for their content validity by a panel of experts. Their CVI values were .86, .97, .92, and .97 respectively. Cronbach's alpha coefficients were .90, .95, .95, and .92 respectively. Pearson's Product Moment Correlation was used to analyze the data.
