Abstract:
This research and development study aimedto create and developand to evaluate the physical fitness test for children using Thai traditional games. The study divided two phases, the first phase was createdand development of a physical fitness test for children by applying the Thai traditional games. The participantsfor the developed physical fitness test were selected purposefully 35 children aged between 10-12 years old.The results showed that a physical fitness test for children using Thai traditional games consistedof nine tests including 1) a 10-meter Rot Thai Na Test, 2) a 10-meter Kradot Kop Test, 3) a 2-minute Kra Dot Yang Test, 4) a Pao Yang Test, 5) a Ling Ching Lak Test, 6) a Kluai Tak Test, 7) a 2-Hop Kratai Kha Diao Test, 8) a Khwang Ling Test, and 9) a Body Mass Index (BMI).Content validity ofnine testswere test that results between 0.8-1.0.The second phase examined the quality of the physical fitness test for children using Thai traditional games. The samples were selected 60 children aged between 10-12 years old. There were threequality assessments. The concurrent validity was assessed by Pearsons Correlation to compare between the test results in the physical fitness test and the test results in the standard physical fitness test, where the statistical significance level was set at p<.05. The reliability of the evaluators was evaluated by the test-retest method over a time period of one week apart by finding the intraclass correlation coefficient from the ICC(3,1)model. The inter-rater reliability was assessed by finding the intraclass correlationcoefficient from the ICC(3,K)model. The research found that the Thai Traditional Games Fitness Test presented concurrent validity between 0.600.79, intra-rater reliability between 0.69-0.90, and inter-rater reliability between 0.80-0.92.
