Abstract:
The purpose of the thesis is to analytically study internal aesthetic form of fine art in Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat in Suphanburi along with archeological evidence and historical data as follows Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat in Suphanburi was constructed as form of the main Prang,
layout plan as well as bell-shaped Pagoda with octagonal base as the same form in early Ayudhaya period around early 20th Buddhist era when King Naka Rin Trara Ti Raj reigned in Suphanburi He also had relationship with Chinese royal court himself. For this reason, it was the crucial factor that made an economy in Suphanburi prosperity. Therefore, a capital temple, Mahathat could be established there. In addition, we have discovered evidence inside Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat in Suphanburi that the main lateral Prang was renovated. Nevertheless, this renovation can't be clearly
identified when it was made. The main lateral Prang might be renovated either before or at the same time Chinese design stucco was renovated in the early 21th Buddhist era during which it was in the reign of Phra Borom Matrai Lokkanat This evidence of Chinese design stucco demonstrates that the stucco gets aged later than Wat Phra Sri Rattann Mahahat construction. The trace mentioned earlier of this renovation is an important evidence that is related to archeological evidence of continuous excavation site found inside Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat in Suphanburi Even though roval court of Suphannaphumi was moved into Ayutthaya, it showed Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat was still meaningful. The significant conclusion of this study is that Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahahathat in Suphanburi had been established in the early 20th Buddhist era as well as was renovated inside the temple around in the early 21th Bududdhist era accordingly
