Guidelines for enhancing the strength of the guidance system at the lower secondary level in the educational opportunity expansion school, Muang district, Surat Thani province: from policy to practice and outcomes
Abstract:
This research aims to 1) study the situation of guidance operations for lower
secondary school students in the educational opportunity expansion school and 2)
propose guidelines for improving the strength of the guidance system. There is a sample
group: educational institution director, guidance teachers and junior high school.
counselors, a total of 43 people, were selected by purposive selection, and a total of 359
students at the lower secondary school level were selected by simple random sampling,
including the study supervisor of the Surat Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office,
Area 1, 1 person. The person who gave suggestions on ways to enhance the strength of
the guidance system that has been developed is seven experts who are directly related to
the guidance system were selected through purposive selection. The research tools are
surveys and interviews on guidance system operating conditions and group discussion
recording form. The results of the research found that 1) Guidance operations is is at a high
level. The challenge is that the guidance operations should be planned systematically and
with continuous supervision and monitoring, driving the organization of activities in
concrete guidance sessions. Support learners to evaluate themselves with psychological
tests covering all dimensions, Increasing the variety of courses or activities that support
students' interests in career skills, and the important issue is developing guidance
personnel to have the potential to carry out guidance work effectively and 2) guidelines
for upgrading the guidance work. It should be under the NASA-H framework, consisting of
1) creating a cooperation network (Network), 2) promoting awareness and action
(Awareness & Activate), 3) monitoring guidance operations (Supervision) 4) Building morale
(Award) and 5) Driving to increase personnel (Human Resource)
