Abstract:
This research is purposed 1) to study condition of learning, conveying knowledge and the role of folk wisdom that relevant to the Community-Based Tourism Management, 2) to study the condition of success in using information of folk wisdom to manage the Community-Based Tourism and 3) to present the guideline of CBT management by using the local folk wisdom. The Samples used are the community that was managed by using tourism-based community for 103 communities and the 4 Best Practiced communities. The instruments used are questionnaire, community observation form and intensive question for the interview. Then analyze data by using the descriptive statistics and the content analysis. The result found that 1) Learning condition in community-based tourism is still having folk wisdom, the local philosopher has learned from their own family and convey to the next generation. There are four dimension methods as following 1) learning and convey it from the locals to the locals. 2) Learning and convey it from the locals to the outsider. 3) Learning and convey it from the outsider to the outsider, it is to say the tourist will convey it to the outsider themselves. And 4) learning and convey it outside in, it is the outsider convey it to the tourist and eventually to the locals. And an aspect of the folk wisdom role is found that folk wisdom has a role to the community-based tourism management. 2) In successful condition found that human development, selecting of folk wisdom and network expanding is the important condition to the success in tourism management. 3) Principles of conducting community-based tourism by using folk wisdom is to have the locals to manage tourism and aware of their own wisdom and get involved for the whole processes, there is a wisdom management to manage it as a unique of a community and also manage the local resource sustain and focus it about lifelong learning to systematic the local economy and make the income to the community. The network connection has three purposes as are following; to learn local wisdom and to be proud of their own wisdom and to make it create the local income through a community-based tourism procession. There are 9 steps of tourism management by folkway wisdom. Step 1 making an understanding, step 2 having participation by the community, step 3 wisdom intellectual developments, step 4 retrieving a folk wisdom for tourism, step 5 self-analysis, step 6 tourism management by folkway wisdom, step 7 creating an innovative for tourism, step 8 building a supportive network for tourism management and step 9 doing the assessment.
